Databases

An important area of software development that typical media companies might struggle with is that of database design. Not the sexiest of technologies to discuss, but crucial “behind the scenes” in many museum and exhibition projects. Our award-winning installation for Taking Liberties at the British Library relied on a carefully designed database scheme to store and retrieve in excess of 100,000 visitor votes. This was synchronised in real time with the exhibition's website database.
